PROGRESS -
GROUND BROKEN FOR LARGE
ADDITION TO OUR FACTORY
Steadily increasing business during the last two years has made it necessary for us to build on an addition to our already very large laboratory at Suffern, N. Y.
This addition will be 110 by 60 feet, and four stories high. It will give us 27,000 additional square feet of space for shipping, packing and manufacturing.
The photograph accompanying this article shows the ground breaking ceremonies. To the right of the center of the photograph you will see Mr. McConnell, Sr.,
holding the shovel with which he broke ground. Next to him are Mr. Alley, Mr. McConnell, Jr., then Mr. Clark, who is Vice President in charge of the laboratory, and Mr. Ewald and Mr. Henderson.
Mr. McConnell spoke' briefly
at the ceremonies; he is never one to say a great deal, but what he says
is to the point. He said, "I am glad that we have made the decision to erect this building at this time. It is an evidence of my confidence in the future, and my
confidence in you, the active workers who are associated with me, that you will carry on as you have in the past, growing and expanding and serving year by year in ever widening scope."
We know that a shout went up from those assembled there, and we know that you will join in that hurrah, silently, as we did here, when we heard about it.
As a result of this large addition to the factory we will be in a
better position to give you the best of service, even with the much greater increase of
business we expect in the coming months and years. Thus there will be an "ever widening scope of business" for all of us.
